We are evangelical Christians who work with churches across the denominations, and with people from cultures other than our own.
We send people at the invitation of a receiving country team, project, institution or church with whom we have a relationship. Members of Latin Link bring their gifts, knowledge and skills to help meet identified needs.
These may be as diverse as filling a vacancy for a lecturer for a Bible college, supplying an engineer to lay on piped water or a church worker able to relate to local immigrant communities.
We offer opportunities for short-term mission on Step or on individual Stride placements which can lead to longer term commitment. Read more about Latin Link's programmes.
We believe that a fresh perspective or different way of working can serve as a catalyst to bring new life to a needy situation. We all know that finding the right person for the task can have huge impact. People, for all sorts of reasons, are attracted to work abroad and find they flourish in a culture or country other than their own. This may be a neighbouring country or mean travelling to the other side of the world.
Latin Link members become part of a country ‘team’ within their country of service. Although they may live and work in different places, the team structure is part of the community aspect of Latin Link. Members in each country meet up at least once a year for a team conference or retreat; they may support or advise each other at other times, and help shape Latin Link policy nationally and internationally.
The vision of Latin Link is one of partnership and linking, of fellowship and friendship, of listening and encouragement, availability and flexibility; of accountability, sensitivity, sacrifice and humility, of seeking after godliness and openness to the leading of the Spirit of God.
Our mission springs from a desire to be involved with God in his work, and to bring honour to him. We believe that allowing people to follow their heart to fulfil a calling is how God uses Latin Link to achieve his purposes.
